From The Rabbi – Shemini Atzeret, Simchat Torah and Parshat Bereishit

As we enter the grand finale of the exciting and spiritually uplifting, festival-filled month of Tishrei, our sages emphasize that, whatever we are able to achieve during Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur through Teshuvah and fasting, we can reach even higher through the joy and celebration of these next 48 hours, and we are able to access and draw down from on high  “bucket loads” of blessings for the entire year. So, let’s make this Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah a most memorable and and enriching experience for young and old and fill our “buckets” to the brim.

It was a real Nachas to welcome so many of our members, their families, and visitors from all over the world over the High Holidays. We extend our deep thanks and sincere appreciation to Rabbi’s Shmuli & Levi  Rosenbaum, and Mordi Slavin for their great assistance in leading the services.

We extend our hearty Mazal Tov to Nat & Claire Trieger, and Jared and Mandy Kaplan and their families, for having accepted the great honor of Chatan Torah and Chatan Bereshit, respectively.

Please see information below regarding the next few days and the global Shabbat Project which is building momentum throughout the world, and we look forward to an amazing action-filled next couple of weeks, with participation from you and your loved ones and we look forward to welcoming you at the Brisbane Synagogue over these exciting services and celebrations.
