Guided Tours

The Brisbane Hebrew Congregation is happy to arrange guided tours of our Synagogue for schools and other organisations.

Tours are conducted on Tuesdays,Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Tours run for about one hour, including question time.

Maximum numbers per group is around 70. To accomodate larger groups, we can split into multiple sessions at different times on the one day or spread them over more than one day.

School bags are to be left in the portico at the entrance of the synagogue.

So you are aware, boys and girls will sit separated on either side of the synagogue, as women and men are separated within the synagogue – women sit upstairs and men downstairs.

It is requested that boys and men wear some sort of hat or cap (sports hat is suitable) as it is our custom for all males to have their heads covered within the synagogue.

Mobile phones are to be switched off or on silent and are not to be used inside the synagogue.

General photography inside the synagogue is prohibited but a group shot to commemorate the visit is acceptable.

Your tour guide will be a BHC member who is very familiar with our synagogue and religion and has been trained to deliver relevant and interesting information about our historic synagogue and our faith.

We conduct these tours free of charge as a general community service, but if you wish to make a donation it would be greatly appreciated.
